Portland Head Lighthouse, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

In existence since George Washington was President (1791). Despite its numerous renovations, Portland Head looks much as it did in the late eighteenth century. Thomas can’t claim to be the first to paint this majestic lighthouse since it remains one of the most visited and painted lighthouses in the United States.
