Race Rocks Light, New York

Positioned where three state’s boundaries come together just off the tip of New York’s Fishers Island, this lighthouse marks an extraordinarily dangerous shoal known as Race Rock Reef. Strong currents race back and forth between the Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean making this area a nightmare for sailors. The pulsing red signal warns mariners away from the shoals.
